MIHA in the News: Oceanside Care Providers Honoured at Appreciation Dinner

We were thrilled to see our Primary Care Provider Appreciation Dinner featured in the Parksville Qualicum Beach News. The evening, hosted by the Mid Island Health Alliance Recruitment and Retention Committee at Rotary Park in Qualicum Beach, was a chance to say thank you to the physicians and nurse practitioners who care for Oceanside families every day.
A Night of Gratitude
The dinner brought together doctors, nurse practitioners, community leaders, local businesses and residents to recognize the commitment, dedication and compassion of our local primary care providers. As MIHA's Lynn Bury told PQB News, the event was about gratitude and community, and the support pouring in for Primrose Medical Centre shows how committed Oceanside is to building a stronger healthcare future together.
Qualicum Beach Mayor Teunis Westbroek joined us for the evening and praised both the community and its healthcare providers. He noted that the care our doctors and nurse practitioners give is felt "far beyond clinic walls," supporting families and seniors through life's most critical moments.
Celebrating the Road to Primrose Medical Centre
The evening also celebrated the remarkable community support behind Primrose Medical Centre, a clinic designed to strengthen physician recruitment and improve access to care across the region. At the time of the dinner, MIHA had raised $900,000 toward the project, with construction set to begin that July.
Since then, shovels have hit the ground and the building is taking shape, and we're getting closer to opening our doors this fall.
