Listen: MIHA Chair Susanne Cunningham on CBC's All Points West

Mid Island Health Alliance Chair Susanne Cunningham joined host Jason D'Souza on CBC Radio's All Points West to talk about Primrose Medical Centre, our plans to open a new clinic in 2026, and our work to recruit 10 doctors to Qualicum Beach and Oceanside.
In the eight-minute conversation, Susanne speaks about both the challenges and the potential of the new clinic, and what it will take for a volunteer-led non-profit to bring a project like this to life.
About Primrose Medical Centre
Primrose Medical Centre is being built as a long-term primary care hub for Qualicum Beach, Qualicum First Nation and surrounding Oceanside communities. Four physicians have already been secured to launch the clinic, and at full operation it will house six to 10 physicians with the capacity to attach at least 9,000 patients.
The clinic also plans to offer specialty clinics in areas such as geriatric care, women's health and prenatal care, mental health, and youth and adolescent health, along with a rotation of visiting specialists to reduce travel and wait times.
Be Part of It
Primrose Medical Centre is powered by community support. If you'd like to help build better access to care in Oceanside, please make a donation today.
